    Hi

One year ago a friend at University introduced me to Saw. Ever since I was absolutely fascinated by Saw since it was so unique and because he targeted scum. So far I have watched all 7 saw films and found an addition online which are new traps, a tribute to the Saw films by the looks of it.

    This one being an example

What do people think of Saw? I have some mates who are scared of it and others who love it.

First couple are alright at best, then they're just awful really. The writers were obviously making the storyline up as they went along with no real outcome intended, which becomes obvious by about the 4th one. But then I guess I wouldn't be watching them for the storyline anyway, so who cares.

Still, they're a laugh after a few bevvys if there's nothing else on I guess.

Agreed, I think the 4th one was the last one I watched, got bored tbh. Would like to watch all 7 eventually one day.

Love Saw 1 and 2 though.

It was a pretty clever concept, but they ruined it by dragging the storyline on for so long and making so many unnecessary plot twists. I lost interest after the first three films. I would have preferred the Saw films to have been much less drawn out, and to have just had the original Jigsaw killer, John Kramer, doing the 'conditioning'/'rehabilitating' (whatever you want to call it), instead of some meaningless, generic characters doing it instead of him.

Let's face it, John Kramer was the intelligent one, who was actually placing his victims in the elaborate traps that you see in the films for a distinct purpose. The idiot characters who took over from him didn't give much consideration to the reason for him wanting to do this in the first place.

I will admit I quite liked the first one, it was kinda clever (with a good twist ending) and it's interesting to see how restrained it is in comparison to the rest. The second one was alright I guess. After the third one it became just torture porn, and the story just went off the rails. 4 and 5 sucked ass. 6 and 7 were a marginal improvement but still were poor.

The first 3 are good but it gets boring after a while. Then they tried to make it into some epic morality saga with the later films with some godawful storytelling

What mostly fascinates me is the link I posted and how graphical and unique Saw is. A serial killer who preys on scum by placing them in traps that kill them if they fail. I agree Saw isnt as great as after the 3rd one. John Kramer should have been the Jigsaw killer all along. Mark Hoffman however did not have any feelings towards any victims. I still preferred Mark Hoffman because he was an evil man and a corrupt cop if you watch Saw 4 and Saw 3d you will see the subtleness of him as being corrupt.

The first two were great, and then they jumped the shark. Sad, yet inevitable.
