    Hey all,

I currently am taking IB and am in a sort of dilemma. I picked my subjects following what course I want to apply for in university. I am currently want to apply for film and I take HL - English, Film Studies, History and SL - Physics, Chinese and Maths. However, although I did quite well in my GCSE maths, I am finding SL Maths really tough and want to switch to maths studies so I can boost my IB overall.

After going through different UK uni requirements for film, none state specifically they want SL maths or above however I am wondering whether switching to Maths Studies would affect my chances of applying for a course in film. Thanks!

I don't see why it would It's mostly just the sciences and design courses that want SL or HL math. Although, math studies just doesn't look great on anybody's transcript, so I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you're certain/willing to put in the effort to get a 6 or a 7. Points are points, and math studies is a good way to push up your total.

For film, if none of the uni sites say otherwise, I think having a high total matters more than which math class you took.
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
