Hey, I have an interview at Imperial College to study chemistry. I wondered if anyone knew their questions they were asked, in particular the higher level question to test how the candidate thinks, or of websites with similar style questions. Thanks

I remember in my interview they asked about mechanisms- like nucleophilic substitution and electrophilic substitution so make sure you understand the curly arrows well!
Also they asked me to give an example of a recent chemical reaction in school I did so be ready for that as well.
It depends on what interviewer you get. I got a lady in glasses if that helps haha. I spoke to other people and they got asked completely different questions.
Just make sure you know the basic a level chemistry. They're very likely to give you the place so remember to breathe. They're not looking for the right answer from you- it's more of how you think. And don't be afraid to ask for help if you don't know the answer but don't ever answer with ''I don't know'' just say something and explain why you think that and they'll guide you through it. They're testing how you think and your thought processes and the way you analyse problems so just say what you think out loud as long as it sounds logical and relevant. Good luck!
