    Hi,

I'm still in my 2nd year of university studying BSc Hons Computer Science. Still have a year in industry, and another year after that.

My question - is it worth doing a master's degree in Computer Science, as I've been told repeatedly it's a waste of time (although no one explained why).

My second question - I want to get into the medical industry by making programs to help the NHS, doctors etc... any ideas where to go?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm probably going to do a Masters but only the integrated one available. A master's would let you get CEng status much easier/quicker but if you can get a good job at the end of 3rd year then it's 'unnecessary' in a way. I'm not sure about your other question I'm afraid, I hear UCL's CS course has quite a medical focus though I don't know much about it.

What is the integrated one, you mean MComp which is better then a degree, but not at level of master's degree?

I'm afraid I don't really know much about medical computing so I can't help you specifically, but I can say that it may well be easier to get a visa if you decide to emigrate in the future with a masters. For example the EB-2 visa for the USA.
