leisure centre! book an appointment, they were really good with my hair - back home it just gets ravaged!
it's called the hair cuttery and is straight ahead when you walk in leisure centre doors. for a boy it was £7...

There's the Francesco group on the ironmarket zone, and a Toni and Guy around the corner on the Castle Walk near the Claires accessories shop. Which is on the little walkway of shops leading to the bus station.

pfft Toni and Guy, why pay £30 to have your hair done by them when you get just as good elsewhere for less? :p:

True, I've got a pair of clippers, scissors and a comb if anyone's interested.

I only pay £5 at home, but obv that's no good for here. Uni charging £7 for a bloke, so a woman is prob gonna be like £10, such a rip off

Nice idea, but no1 would trust me with scissors lol :p:, normally mobile hairdressers are cheaper, but would be quite difficult i imagine to find 1. Although they would make a mint, how many students are in halls.
idea of a student is to be dishevelled and un-trimmed, which is the look i'm going for right now haha

I went to the tony n guy...I feel snobbish now...but they cut it really well...It was like 35 pounds...which is not THAT bad. That waz generally the amount I paid back home...but that was in euros so i dont know...well. anyways...in front of tony n guy there is another hairdresser which seems good and def less expensive. Its literally across the street from tony n guy.

My sister cut my hair earlier  If you asked her nicely she might cut yours too...

Shes starting her first job on monday as a trainee hairdresser, bless her.
I always go to The Hair Shop in the Leisure Centre. Have been to Supercuts a couple of times (near Music Zone, Poundland etc) but you have to sit and wait till they have finished the person before and when they are cutting your hair they keep rushing off to answer the phone etc because they don't have a receptionist. Very annoying!
you could try 'Red', in in Newcastle opposite the police station, although it costs about £20 they do a really good cut, and that includes washing hair and styling it all properly, plus the staff are all really nice and they do student discount on a certain day, although I don't remember which day...

Hate to sound cheap here but there's a Supercuts on the street leading down to Central Station near the Big Market. They've always cut my hair and even coloured it brilliantly.

When I first went I was a bit nervous but I've never had anything other than good service there. Plus you don't have to spend £35 on a hair cut. (Colour packages can go up to £50-70 depending on what you want done. But they normally do a deal anyway)

Hope this helps

I know what you mean, it is a wait-and-see service but that can work to your advantage sometimes. There's a Supercuts on the street leading down to Central Station near the Big Market they've always cut my hair and even coloured it brilliantly. Admittedly you're right about the whole phone thing, can get a little frustrating but normally there's two people there so that helps. For a dry cut it's still £13, I think they even do 10% student discount. (may be wrong)

Hope this helps
