Mass of aspirin from concentration watch

1. Hey there people, need help on a calculation:

The aim of our experiment is to find out the actual mass of aspirin content in a aspirin tablet, and compare this value to what the manufacturers state that it is.

The mass of the tablet is 0.60g
They state that the aspirin content in one tablet is 0.30g

I have the absorbable of the tablet down as 0.4109 and the concentration of the tablet as 0.051gdm-3

Now I have to work out the mass of the content. How do I do this?

This may seem obvious as mass = moles x Mr but do I need to use that formula or not?

To sum it up, how do I get the mass of the aspirin content from a concentration of 0.051gdm-3

The mass has to be in g as well.

Any help appreciated!!!

2. Did you dissolve the tablet in water?

That means your concentration means grams of aspiring per dm^3. So you need to work out how many grams per (whatever you dissolved the tablet in). That tells you the mass of aspirin per tablet.

Wasn't water but it was iron chloride.

Managed to solve it and answer came out as 0.255g in one tablet, so 0.045g over the stated amount

We prepared a stock solution which was 500ml so had to find out how much was in 1ml, then 10ml for a cuvette and 500ml etc.

But yeah, forgot about what we dissolved the tablet in so that is why I couldn't progress, but what you said was right. Thanks for the mention though!
