I've been set the task of answering the question 'To what extent do you consider the revolutions of 1917 to be a key turning point in the development of modern Russia 1856-1964'.
So far I've struggled. The topics I wish to encompass are emancipation, 1905 revolutions, 1917 revolutions, Lenin's war communism and NEP, Stalin's collectivisation and five year plans and finally Khrushchev's rule.
I'm unsure about how to tackle the question, I've researched social, economic and political changes but I'm struggling to actually put anything credible together.
Could any experienced historians give me a few tips?
