I literally have no close friends i'm 23 at university and I also work in fashion.
when i was in secondary school i had a groups of close friends, I kept in touch with two of them but lost contacts with one last year due to her lack of efforts and excuses every time we wanted to meet up. the other one i see every few months but I feel like we are both so different and don't share the same interests anymore.

in sixth form i made another group of close friends lost contact with most of them but was very close with one up until last year, we even became flatmates but we drifted apart (long story short, she felt like i wasn't spending as much time as i should with her and in our new flat)

I made some friends from work but drifted apart with most of them due to moving on to new jobs ect. made 3 very close friends, one of them became my best friend but last year she was diagnosed with severe depression and is still recovering she is not the same person anymore, I've tried to meet up with her and be there for her but she just wants to be alone all the time.
the other two i see once every month/two they both have new jobs.

at university on my course I have made an effort to get to know people on my course but no luck there. i mean i have conversations with them but haven't become friends.

IS it me ??? i feel like something is wrong with me? i feel so lonely just seeing how happy people in my age group are? i mean i am a nice person but i just don't have any friends

If you're kind, friendly, accepting of others, willing to try out new things, you'll make friends

    It is you.

Not personality wise, but effort wise.

Go to social events, actively look to do things with the people you meet to create memories thus fostering deeper connections.

+ and keep being you =)

It doesn't sound like it's you, you seem to be making the effort and others aren't.
I'm in the exact same position as you, but I try my best, inviting people out to films, and general outings but they tend to not reply and I see that they've seen it or they make up some bull**** excuse.
Maybe some people are just unlucky to meet the ****ty people in life. Just think it must get better eventually and keep trying you'll find someone eventually who you'll become close too

It's definitely you, you're doing something that's causing you to be this way. I'm 23 as well, I'm at uni, haven't made a single friend here in so many years, not even one. Never had any friends at school. Just always alone. You just gotta accept it and get on with life I suppose. Take it a day at a time. Stay strong brah.

I'm literally so tired of being nice to people and going out of my way to make sure they're okay and happy just to get treated like s***. F*** everyone who I have been there for and haven't been there for me.
