I'm currently dong ALevels, I seem to find music in the background helps me concentrate? Does anyone have any strong opinions against it? I don't want it to be reason to my downfall

Just make sure it's background music that you don't need to concentrate on while you are playing it. I listen to instrumental music when working, classical or jazz, which brightens my mood and so helps my concentration.

I tend to listen to music I haven't heard before but follows what I like; otherwise I find I'm too distracted and end up singing along if I know what's playing.
