    done part a, got xsinxcosx +0.5cos^2x + c but stuck on b

    Use a double angle formula for cos2x.

    Good that's the one you should use.
    It's \cos 2x = 2\cos^2 x - 1 though.

    You need to use your answer from the last part. How can you make this integral look like the one in the last part?
    The double angle formula you suggested is the correct way to do it.
    Don't worry about the x at this stage
