Question about the AS-level of Japanese language

I am thinking of taking Japanese language at the AS-level. I have been studying Korean for the last few years
and, as the languages are fairly similar, I want to take the AS-level of Japanese exam. Now, before that, I wonder what level of the JLPT this would correspond to. Also, what textbooks are used in class?
I am from Germany and recently dropped out of the school system here. So I will take the exam for external students in the summer of 2016 at the CCSS.
