I have to chose my A-level subjects very soon and I would like to pick out of these choices. I am interested in studying Law or Government and Politics at uni but I am not too sure yet. Please put links to where you got your information from as I would love to see for myself too! If you have any links to UK universities 'Blacklists' please post those as well.

    THANK YOU!

When I was looking for blacklisted courses I couldn't find anything recent online, but there's probably another thread that can help... --->http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=297784

#3 and #5 might be considered slightly more "soft" than the other subjects by some people, but overall none of your subjects are the sort to be "blacklisted" from universities. The only A-levels really looked down upon seem to be Critical Thinking and General Studies.

Just look at universities and see what subjects they want you to do for your A-levels and choose your a-levels based on that

This page from Trinity College, Cambridge may be of some help. Keep in mind that this is only the official view of a single College at a single University, however.

There nothing like hard or soft. It all depends on whether you know what you want

English Literature is far more respected than English Language.

Eng Lit is better than Eng Lang. Drama is a soft subject. Government and Politics may be seen as soft aswell. It does all depend on what you enjoy and are good at though, no point choosing A Levels that are "hard" and then not enjoying/doing well in them.

In my opinion, Drama. But each uni will be different, and many don't care about what you do, as long as you get the grades.

Drama is a bit soft. But the others are fine.

My friend has just got all 5 offers to study Politics at Uni and her choices were similar to yours - G&P, English Lit, History and she's dropped Maths. I think the ones you've mentioned should be fine for you
