Only just joined TSR and I could have posted this on any number of discussions but I thought I'd make a new post.
I just thought it'd be good to have a discussion where everyone can bring together what they've heard and they're opinions on the accountancy school leaver options, taking into account reputation for study help, life/work balance and the reputation of the firms in general. Or any information you've heard, whether it be about the schemes themselves or what the options are after.
I luckily managed to gain myself a place on the PwC scheme. If anyone would like any advice at all I'm happy to help you out as best I can. Personally I think it's the best scheme for me because it offers a shorter two year apprenticeship which is very flexible, you can then go on and do another two years and have choice in the route you take. On top of this it is the biggest firm and the people seem really nice! However, this doesn't mean it's best for everyone. I'd love to hear what everyone else has to say!
Again I thought it's be nice to have a discussion where people can talk in general about the accountancy schemes rather than focusing on individual firms!

I've also applied for PwC and have my senior interview on Friday, which I'm guessing you've had! Do you have any advice or pointers for the interview? I applied for Assurance (Pensions Audit) in Leeds, what did you apply for and where?
I have heard good things about PwC from a friend who has been on the school leaver programme since September and my experience with them has been sound so far!
Are you thinking of applying for any of the other "big firms"? There's a handy list of the top 75 firms on the internet, I'll dig out a link if you want to take a look, I found a couple of companies on there which I'm intending to apply for when they begin recruiting - one being Barber Harrison and Plat
