    I have two questions that I cannot seem to find the answer to anywhere online, could someone please help?
    1) Ethanol + Copper Oxide = ??
    &
    2) What happens to copper oxide when ethanol is oxidised?

    Ethanol gets oxidised to ethanal (an aldehyde), then ethanal gets further oxidised to ethanoic acid (a carboxylic acid.)

    Maybe copper oxide only causes partial oxidation. I don't really know. But it probably gets reduced to copper, as shown here:
