Been reading some stuff on YT and other sites lately. Mostly seem to think sports EU cars need to catch up to the American ones and have been behind for ages. What does TSR think?

    edit: meant european not british

too vague. traditionally american sports car: big engine, shouty, ugly build quality, can't handle. UK handle better, built better smaller engines, quick but not fast.. obvious exclusions, saleen S7's, the latest corvettes are sublime and go very well from experience, vipers etc, vs the latest jags, astons and what not.Cars arent all that different these days though tbh wherever you shop..

American sports cars tend to be big, cheap and usually quite heavy for what it is. Some are fast but most tend to be boulevard cruisers or for males in their mid-life crisis. Most don't tend to handle the twisty roads all that well due to their weight and also roads it is tuned to cope with, specially tuned ones tend to be far more expensive.

European sports cars, these tend to lighter and often utilize smaller but highly tuned engines. In the late 90s, a UK built Lotus Esprit S4 could easily thrash a Dodge Viper, well when it worked that is. One of the biggest enemies of a sports car tend to be weight and weight distribution, therefore as a whole I'd say on overall European sports cars tend to be better though it also comes at a higher price tag.
