Hi Tulip1, sorry for the delayed response!

Great to hear you are interested in the foundation programme. The content is made up of the following:

Skills and technique classes: 20 hours per week x 25 weeks
Individual vocal tuition: 45 mins x 25 weeks
Creative performance project: 75-80 total hours
Audition technique classes: 1.5 hours per week x 20 weeks
Show choir: 1.5 hours x 25 weeks
CoLab: A week-long collaborative project with music and dance students at Trinity Laban

There are also personal tutorials and English language classes for student who don't speak English as their first language.

We have an Open Day coming up on 15 June - here's the link in case you'd like to find out more/come along: https://www.trinitylaban.ac.uk/study...eatre-open-day

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. :

Thanks,

Claire

Hello, I was just wondering for musical theatre what they want from people especially in auditions, do they want you to have already had proper training ? Because I’ve never really had any professional training so I feel like I would instantly be dropped ?

Hi Sally,

Thanks for your post!

Are you thinking of applying for BA Musical Theatre? As this is a professional training programme - we wouldn't expect students to have prior training. The top qualities we are looking for is potential and passion and we welcome students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

If you are keen to apply, I would say do so and you will be invited along to an audition. The audition is a two-way process: we want to find out more about you but it's also an opportunity for you to get a sense of what it is like to be a student here.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

So what are they looking for, for foundation and how do they decide between the two? Also don't most people applying have potential and passion? As there are so few places surely not everyone with potential and passion get offered a place so what else are you looking for? We have been through this process once and have been rejected and that is with formal training at a specialist performing arts college as well as experience since the age of 4. Saying you are only looking for potential and passion does not give anyone a clue as to what you are really after. Concerned about spending yet more money auditioning next year if its pointless

Hi Tulip1,

Thanks for your comment.

You are right - all applicants who go to the effort of preparing for and turning up to an audition have potential and passion, and we do have a limited number of places. It really boils down to how these qualities are demonstrated during the audition process.

We are holding an Open Day on 15 June - if you are keen on applying I would recommend coming along so you can chat to current students about the audition process and find out more about the programme/conservatoire.

Best of luck if you do decide to audition next year and let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi I am going to the open day for the dance course of the 13th November and I was wondering what the open day involves. Are there any dance workshops and if there are do I need to wear dancewear?
