I am a Marketing student, currently on my industrial placement due to go into my final year in September 2015. I have been looking at a number of options ready for 2016 when I graduate, but would like some advice.

Option 1 is to study towards a MA in the UK

Option 2 is to study towards a Post Graduate Certificate (PGC) in New York, with the main objective being a 12 month work placement as a part of the Mountbatten Institute

Option 3 is to apply for a graduate scheme

The MA course would be in Marketing, nothing too specific as I don’t want to hinder my prospects by having such a specialist MA; although branding is a route I am seriously considering going down.

The Mountbatten Institute New York Programme is something I’ve been thinking about for a while, and from research I've seen some mixed reviews... It seems like such an amazing opportunity, but is it worth it for only a PGC? Would my money and time be better spent in the UK studying for an MA?

I suppose what I’d really like to know is whether an employer would rather see MA on my CV or 12 months’ work experience in New York/surrounding area.

The final choice of applying for a grad scheme is something I’m currently seeing as a last resort, as I'd very much like to pursue a post graduate course.

What are your thoughts? Can you offer any recommendations?
    Thanks in advance!

Ask some prospective employers. At a guess an MA in Marketing probably won't be valued as highly as practical experience, and it will cost you a fortune.
