Hey guys. I just started iB and I chose for my higher subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Economics. For standard, I chose French B, Eng Lit and Maths.
I want to do engineering in the future but the problem is I am not too sure about which one. I was thinking either chemical or mechanical. I was aiming for the UK for university and I heard that Maths HL is needed to do engineering in the UK. Is this true? If so, do colleges like Imperial accept SL maths???

    Thanks guys

    Hi,

I really don't know *that* much about the engineering requirements... but I know a couple of people who do want to go into engineering and they're all doing Maths, Physics & Chemistry at HL

Imperial wants HL Maths (7), Chemistry (6), and Physics/ Biology/ Economics (6) for chemical engineering:

Imperial wants HL Maths (6), Physics (6), and Chemistry/ Design Tech./ Biology/ Computer Sci./ Economics (6) for mechanical engineering:

Personally, I think that HL maths is required to study engineering in the UK and you should be okay with economics as HL for both chemical and mechanical engineering.

    Best of luck!

Maths HL is an absolute must for engineering in the UK.
