I'm slightly worried about this bit of the Eng Lit exam because we haven't even gone through how to deconstruct poems and that kind of thing. Also, we have another exam with OMAM in addition to the poem

Ok so for the poem it gives you a list of suggestions to talk about (content, structure, comparisons, your opinion) use them!! When you get the poems read them through until you understand them and make notes on each one (a highlighter could be useful too). The way I like to structure it is to write about each one individually and then do a few paragraphs on similarities/differences. Also, don't worry about your ideas being wrong! It's your own interpretation and if you back it up with quotes it should be fine.

Unseen poems are chosen so that candidate can easily find at least a few things to talk about. What you need to do for the high grades is see past these things that the exam board know you will pick out and try to find a deeper meaning - as long as your idea could could from the text you cannot be wrong. Even if the idea is wrong you still get the marks, as long as you continue it and don't suddenley change it.
