    A very warm welcome to our new TSR forum!

    In case you didn’t know, RDI is one of the world’s leading independent providers of UK university distance learning with nearly 25 years experience of supporting over 50,000 university students.

    It’s great to see so many students on TSR already talking positively about RDI, but if you have any specific questions we are always here to help and advise. Whether you are an existing student or are thinking of taking that first life-changing step, we can help you!

    Who is RDI?

    An independent provider of UK university distance learning with...
    - 25 years experience of supporting over 50,000 university students in the UK and around the world;
    - around 8,000 current students;
    - Over 90% of students with RDI combine work with their home studies.

    What is the difference between RDI and other distance learning providers?

    We're here to help change people’s worlds through higher education and are passionate about delivering the best service and support to help you achieve your goals.

    Studying is a big decision that requires investment of time and money, so we provide you all the information you need to make your decision. This begins with our friendly Admissions Team, who are happy to discuss your course options, and continues through to our Student Support Team who will be there with you for however long you study through RDI.

    Our expert tutors are passionate about online distance learning and offer support, drive interaction online and are there to offer feedback and advice throughout your studies.

    What courses does RDI offer?

    A whole range of UK university MBAs, Masters and Degree qualifications, which are studied by online learning with full tutor support. Subjects include Business, Law, Criminology, Management, Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Service Excellence, Computing, Graphic Design and Travel & Tourism. There are also a range of HNDs, Degree Top-Ups and Diplomas too. You can visit here for a full list.

    What support will I get?

    Plenty. Your tutors will help you understand and get the most out of your study materials – preparing you not just for the assessments but also for your future career. Your student support co-ordinator will help you with the admin and non-academic side of things. And our IT support team will make sure you use ilearn – our learning platform - to the full.

    How long will it take to complete my qualification?

    It depends on your particular course. Generally you’ll spend as much or as little time as you would if you were doing a campus-based part-time course. Further information is available on our course pages here (link to Course Finder?)

    How does distance learning work?

    With distance learning, you follow a UK university course without the need to visit a campus. We provide you with all the study materials you need, tutors for academic support, and a student support co-ordinator who will help make your studying successful and enjoyable. However, you still graduate from a UK university are invited to the ceremony.

    Can I study from anywhere in the world?

    Yes, you can study wherever you are in the world. Some courses require you to sit formal exams at the university, but we can help you arrange a local venue if you’re not in the UK.

    Can I get a student loan to study?

    If you’re a UK or other EU undergraduate student living in England or Wales, you can apply for a student loan to cover your tuition fees, just like any full-time student.

    The maximum amount you can currently get is £4,500 a year, but all our fees are set below this level. What’s more, you don’t repay anything until the April four years after the start date of your course, or the April after you complete your course, whichever is sooner, and then only if you’re earning more than £21,000.

    Please ask us if you have any further questions which are not covered off here!

    RDI are very good would highly recommend them. Almost finished my first year of BSc Business Computing and it has gone very smoothly. Their lessons are clear, the lectures and staff are very supportive and quick to respond to questions and their online resources are well organised. Give them a try.
