My brother will be 15 in few days, and I was thinking of getting him a book for his birthday not just any novel, but one that might motivate him to succeed, such as an inspirational autobiography or a motivatoinal book. Right now, I'm thinking of getting him "The essence of success" by Earl Nightingale.
Reason for doing this is because he's doing his GCSEs and although he's making a bit of effort, he doesn't have the self-confidence to believe he can succeed if he works hard.
Any advice and/or recommendation is appreciated

I don't know your brother, but unless you think he will actually read it there's probably no point. If someone woudl get me that (not a massive reader) I'd probably just let it sit and collect dust.
However if he's looking to improve his motivation and you think we will pick it up, sounds like an ok idea.
