I can't seem to find a good answer with google but... I am going back to do a second degree in September, having taken two years between degrees to work fulltime. Obviously I have been paying council tax these last two years.

I want to move into another student house for my first year back, all the ones I have seen start the tenancy in July, my course starts at the end of September! For those two months I won't be a student, so how am I meant to find a student house for my first year?!

I thought I had found the perfect house but the landlord asked for my student ID so she could sort out council tax and I was like, damn it, kinda gutted that I have to lose that great house now

    Hi

You do have a few options so dont give up yet!

You could move in to a private halls type property which already deals with all the council tax stuff for you - they also are more likely to have move in dates closer to the start date of your degree. Alternatively you could get a letter from your University saying that you have been accepted to a degree this coming year, and a letter from the local council saying that students are exempt from paying and take this information to landlords when you go for viewings.

The other people to contact is the University advice centre as they should be able to offer some support with this, or the University Accommodation department.

Hope this helps and good luck.
