    I've just started this topic and I'm having trouble answering this question. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you

    Two particles P and Q have mass of 0.4kg and 0.6kg respectively. The particles are initially at rest on a smooth horizontal table. Particle P is given an impulse of magnitude 3Ns in the direction of PQ.
    Find the speed of P immediately before it collides with Q.

    that is correct but here you need the alternative form


    Impulse = momentum after - momentum before
