Having a baby won't entitle you to a house. There's criteria to meet, which should be on your councils website.

He should get a full time job, and rent a house.

Best thing to do would be to look on the councils website to find out about applying for a council property. There will be a waiting list.

Also look for local housing associations to apply for housing with. Works in very much a similar way to council housing, except its run by a private company or charitable trust.

The other thing you could do is visit the CAB, they might be able to help you with applying for housing and help, or refer you to an organisation who can help.
