    Hey Yall!

So I'm currently studying French A2, English AS, Religion and Philosophy AS, and Sociology AS.

I'm doing okay in Sociology so I need to improve my English (WJEC) and RS (EDEXCEL) grades, for which I am aiming for an A and a B respectively.

    ~~Welcome to my journey amigos!~~

~~UPDATE: I finished up my English draft, bibliography and all (1334 words - too short?)

I did a detailed plan last night for the utilitarian essay I wrote up in class today. Went quite well, although not so sure about the second part as I didn't really evaluate. Let's see how it goes ~~~

Good luck! I'm not going to lie from GCSE to AS level it is a huge jump. No more memorising and more about spontaneous speaking and essay writing in exams. Once you get used to it though it's fine, and you get a lot more practice once exam time comes around.

    Been an eventful week so...

    ~~ UPDATE:
-- Planned and wrote up a sociology essay on birth and death rates since the 1900s
-- Got my second draft back for English and started re-editing it!
-- Asked my teacher for a photocopy of my English mock so I can work through it :elefant: ~~

I've also had a lot of school work as well but I wouldn't really count this as main revision (?!)

~~ UPDATE: English - Gone through six drafts of my English Coursework and finally gave it in this Thursday! *wipes brow* My teacher said it was good so fingers crossed I get a good grade!! :elefant:

Sociology - Wrote up an essay for 'Using material from Item B and elsewhere, assess the strengths and limitations of official statistics on researching boy's underachievement' question. Teacher said it was about 15/20!!

RS - Made a plan for two parts of a situation ethics essay. Might write it up during the half term!

French - Did some research and notes for my cultural topic (Singer, Zaz) ~~

So that was a busy week. Whew! Planning a lot more revision for this half term, but for everyone else stressing, don't forget to leave some free time to do something fun and make some nice plans!

I'm going to include my half term plan in a separate blog post bellow so as not to make this one extra long and for clearer viewing.

    Happy valentines day...

So my sociology unit 1 exam is done and dusted! Whew! :elefant:

I definitely think I over-revised but it was okay because I was able to answer every question! I honestly didn't find it that hard, but it's only 40% of the whole Sociology grade so who knows! Just Education left now!

    2) I wrote about secularisation and changing in attitudes
    3) they produce profits, unit of consumption, women reproduce the work force, wrote 3/4 more as I was confused
    4) talked about all theories such as functi, fem, Marx, new right and put policies within them..out policies such as materiality/paternity, taxes, teenage pregnancy, NHS, welfare benefits etc
5)For childhood i wrote about March of progress and conflict view. Eg) laws banning child labour etc and for conflict inequalities between children and adults...like control over clothing etcI also wrote about the future of childhood - postman and opie..IS THIS OKAY???

I'm not really sure about grades exactly but this is what I did:

    (Original post by Prina_R)
1)Household: people living together inside a house eg) nuclear fam or extended...(got 1mark as i didnt write blood related)
What do you mean blood related? Doesn't household mean they don't necessarily have to be related? I think that's a good definition! I put something along the lines of: People who live under the same roof and don't necessarily have to be related e.g. student halls

    2) I wrote about secularisation and changing in attitudes
Same, I put extra ones in case as they don't penalise you for writing more and give you the marks anyway! (decreased stigma, decreased secularisation, and it makes for a good trial run)

    3) they produce profits, unit of consumption, women reproduce the work force, wrote 3/4 more as I was confused
    That's good imo!

    4) talked about all theories such as functi, fem, Marx, new right and put policies within them..out policies such as materiality/paternity, taxes, teenage pregnancy, NHS, welfare benefits etc
This was an 'Examine' question so they were looking for as many theories/examples as possible so that's really good yeah!

5)For childhood i wrote about March of progress and conflict view. Eg) laws banning child labour etc and for conflict inequalities between children and adults...like control over clothing etcI also wrote about the future of childhood - postman and opie..IS THIS OKAY???
Assess question, they wanted as much evaluation as possible, so as long as you gave an against for nearly every point made that would be fine. Yeah I wrote about Aries/Shorter march of progress then Firestone/Gittins conflict view to contrast it and the fact that they ignore the positives of adult control to evaluate THAT (e.g. protection from child abuse)

Then I did Opie/Postman/Palmer at the end

I think you didn't do bad to be honest!!
