What is success to you? What would you have to achieve or accomplish in your career or in your life to be able to say that you are successful...

    haha many existential threads today!

When I have achieved my ideal self, currently a near-unattainable Superman/model/rock-star icon, but perhaps this will change in the future as I realise the futility of chasing perfection.

Success for me is working really really hard to make it somewhere in life (i.e. - attain a masters/phd from an amazing university) and get a good job which I enjoy doing and live life comfortably That's my view for success and I hope to get there one day!

When I'm living in London undertaking the medical foundation years after graduation. I would have fulfilled all of my current goals by then so I think I'd definitely be at the point where I can say that.

When I receive some sort of public recognition for doing something amazing (pretty vague right ) in any scientific field.

Then I would be satisfied, but of course I would never stop researching.

    For me, personally:

    . To be happy.
. To reach my full potential- ie, find a career that compliments my skills, and is also something i enjoy. One of my biggest fears is ending up in a dead end job, barely holding on to a meaningful purpose.

Obv the first one is very complex and will be tied to numerous things (eg- romantic relationships, friendships, etc)
