Hi Guys, I'm looking for some advice about what grades I actually NEED to get this year...

Basically I need 3As overall and got roughly 90% in all my exams last year so..
As all my AS exams totalled 300 UMS, I've got roughly 270UMS in each subject now, and..
To get an A overall, I need 80% of the overall score (i.e. 80% of 600 which is 480UMS)??... in which case I would only need 210 more UMS in each subject to achieve the A overall, meaning I need Bs (boundary of 210UMS) this year all round?

Is this right? Have I got my maths and understanding of the system correct?

Or do I need to get an A both years to get an A overall? The way I understand it is that it's only the overall percentage that matters and the uni offer is based on the grade given to your overall percentage??

Confusing myself now!!

You are correct, they are equally weighted and added together. However if you are capable of getting 90% you may as well aim for the A*.

You are correct. You need 480UMS overall for an A, how that 480 is split between the 6 units does not matter. However, if you can get 270/300 on the A2 units you will get an A*. It sounds as though you ought to be capable of that in at least 1 subject.
