Ah right, almost never happened.

People often think I am a medical student though, cos I look young for my age.
how do you feel about the fact that if you stick your scalpel in at the wrong position you've committed manslaughter and your life will be ruined?

I am in my third year of training. There are a total of 9-10 years from leaving medical school to becoming a fully qualified trauma and orthopaedic surgeon.

The first two years are 'general' training - I've done those.

The next two years are ' core surgical' training - I'm doing those now.

And then there are 5-6 years of speciality training in trauma & orthopaedics after this.

This isn't true. As long as the patient signs the green consent sheet, the exact position of the scalpel doesn't matter.

Never! Its one of the prerequisites for surgical training I think.
How much do you earn? What are your hours like? What kind of surgeon do you want to be?
