Just on the fact that I live near Kingston Uni, I would heartily recommend you dont't go there. I believe they have a better rep for business than most things, but i really would go to ob

Please, explain yourself..

Well I'm going to Oxford Brookes in Sept so I would be biased...!! But seriously though, OB is seen as 'up and coming' and its in such a nice city.

What's wrong with Kingston Uni? What is it you don't like about it and the teaching there? I won't be living there so I'm not worried about accomodation. I'm purely interested in the business degree that Kingston offers.

I know quite a few people doing business at Kingston and they say its a top course, plus I live in Kingston and can verify that its a top place (good night life, shops, "green" areas if thats your thing, plus close to London) having said that they are both great new unis. So try and visit OB before finalising anything.

Hi,

I got conditional offers for Kingston University and Oxford Brookes for a top-up degree course in Business. Although I haven't visited OB, I am not very impressed with their attitude and administration... Kingston Uni looks nice but I don't know much about the quality of teaching there.. Can anyone advice me which one is a better choice?

I assume OB is a campus uni, whereas kingston isn't. This might be a factor, depends what your priorities.

P.s. icklehc where abouts do you live?

No, oxford brookes is a city university, in oxford with all the university of oxford colleges. Although brookes iself is a separate institution from the university of oxford.

I've been told by various sources in business/academia that Oxford Brookes is seen as one of the best of the new unis. Its reputation really seems to be on the up, although I don't know what this is based on. I don't know anything about Kingston either so can't really compare, but just a bit of info to keep in mind

but up a huge hill! which i've only attempted to walk once.. they do seem to lay on buses to the centre of town though.

Brookes - Better reputation.
Kingston - Better place.

Your choice.

If you're finding it difficult to decide a visit is worth it. Repuatation wise Oxford Brookes is better, it's been named the "The Best New University" for the eighth consecutive year. It's a pretty nice place and only an hour away from London - I know that because my bf is going Oxford.
