It's a bit hot... I've never heard of heat causing cancer though

Laptops only transmit/recieve if your useing a wireless internet connection. There have been no links made between wireless networks and any forms of health risk.

It can lower your sperm count though.

Radiation is emitted from the HD although its supposed to be protected...

Reply 5

I'm sure it's fine. You shouldn't keep your laptop actually on your lap though if you can help it, so put it on a table infront of you.

Actually, it's been shown in studies that keeping your laptop on your knees for many hours a day lowers your sperm count, but only because it heats up your nether-regions. Study report here

No it has happened. Although I suspect in most cases they were naked. Anyone remember the priest that burnt his penis with his laptop? He was blatently looking at porn with no clothes on but of course he can't admit that being a priest and all.

Haha, I actually burnt my thigh with my laptop. :-\

Everything is "linked" to cancer. They don't really know what causes it, they just look at lifestyles of those individuals who suffer from it and try and make a link.

I wouldn't worry.

Reply 15

Wtf? So none of the people who have burnt themselves manage to efficiently use their senses?

It's easier to burn yourself on your laptop than you think.

It just felt warm on my leg, as you'd expect.

Open up the PC/laptop. There should be warnings on the HD and any DVD/CD drives.

The only warning on any drive in a computer is ontop of DVD/CD drives, and thats for laser radiation. Unless youre planning on opening it up laser light can't traved though metal.

As for HDD's, a bit of glass spinning around with an ickle magned on top isnt going to give out anything.
