I'm not going into detail but it's been a long time since I checked my university e-mail and there's a good chance I'm going to find some scary stuff if I check it.

Please push me with all your might to summon the courage to check my e-mail. This really isn't a troll, I have bad anxiety and I'm shaking like a leaf.

All I can really say is even if you don't check, the damage is already done. So, no more harm can come to you and also, it prevents further damage.

What is this? Cambio please don't be sarcastic. I'm not joking. I have potential but this anxiety could ruin my chances of getting a degree. Shove me back into the land of the sane!

Not going to be specific, but it worries me.

OK. Just pull the plaster off quickly. It might not be as bad as you think and worrying about it is stressing you out.

I feel like it might help to have a friend with me but I feel as if that's utterly pathetic

No, it's not. Get a friend to be there if that would be easier.

It is scary - but it is best to do it now than to leave it. If there is anything scary, just make notes, then if it's still really scary, go and see your tutor and tell them how anxious you've been. Anxiety makes you put things off, but it also increases your anxiety, putting things off.

I hope it's better than you think. Be strong, be brave, look at those emails.

Do it now, it's probably not half as bad as you imagine
