    Hi there,

I am currently at college studying BTEC Level 3 IT. We have just started our second semester, but before we went off for a break I had performed very poorly in my first semester. I was very unorganized with my assignments and did not get any submitted. I have them done up until M2 but seeing as I missed the deadline I have been advised I will more than likely not be returning for the second year.

With this in mind I would like advice on the possibilities if and when the inevitable happens. I do a lot of computer work in my spare time (Software Development, creating websites, running my own blog and forum, PlayStation hardware & software modding, iPhone and computer repairs and more).

I want a career in IT as a software developer (.NET) but often find you need some sort of degree in computer related subjects.

I am giving my tutor the work anyway even though the deadline is missed, in case there is any last hope.

Any guidance or advice on what I should do if I leave the course at the end of the academical year.

I am 18 by the way!

    Thanks

Go do Computer Science with a foundation year. I will say though, if you can't handle the BTEC, you will certainly struggle in university.
