# Fine with C1 and C2, but M1 is a struggle watch

1. I really enjoy logs and trig etc but our class moved onto M1 (pulleys etc) and im struggling.

why do i find the core questions easy
i average 90/91 UMS for C1 and C2, but i can barely do a question on M1.

why is this?

Had the exact same problem last year. M1 is really different to the core units since you have to basically 'construct' the questions yourself. Do you think you actually understand the content, or is it just translating it into exam papers?
3. No i don't understand the content
Everything is weirdly worded
My brain is tuned into answering question such as sinx-3=cos^2x-3+4sinx etc
How do i deal with this
I dont want to get 95 UMS - C1 and C2 and then 50 UMS in M1.

If you genuinely understand it (and you don't just think you do) then it literally is just about practice. Looking at past paper mark schemes is possibly a good place to get started.

Don't worry just work on with it and it will soon (hopefully) make sense.
I had this problem at the start of the year but I am now (arguably) the best in the FM class.
6. I found M1 much easier than C1 and C2 and I think I should have got full ums!!

M1 - 98 ums
C1 - 95 ums
C2 - 88 ums

Just keep on practicing with past papers and you will get the hang of it. Doing AS Physics will help.

I'm doing AS physics but it hardly help to be fair. Im struggling with M1 as well and think that M1 actually helps with the mechanics in AS physics. I guess I have to give it a bit of time till it clicks in.
