These questions really are outrageously biased.

I cannot understand how this would be useful at all. Which idiot thinks all porn is violent? What about softcore amateur lesbian porn where they're just kissing? They're not making money and it's just some kissing and touching, for example - does that encourage "violence" against women? If someone thinks it is caused because these women feel oppressed and do so to please men, lest they be beaten, how can we combat such dogmatism? No evidence for it...

Let me suggest an interesting question for you that I think you could source online: Are countries in which women are more liberated, larger or smaller consumers of porn? I bet you could quantitate that too. I wonder how 'feminists' (you know, the ones who think penetration = rape and that sex between a drunk guy and drunk girl = rape) would respond to such a finding. Not that the finding settles any debate, but after establishing a possible link it might be interesting to explore the underlying causes...

BTW: I always argue for psychology and sociology to be considered 'proper' sciences, but of course in the social context, but I fear that surveys like this, whilst of course just that of a student, help establish the terrible status these fields have. How many natural science studies look anything like this survey? As long as the data is treated as very much inconclusive and just a small part of a larger picture then perhaps it is okay, but I struggle to see meaningful inference if this is not so.

This is ridiculous. Seriously, people wondering why many hate feminism; it's because of this crap.

I think there are really interesting arguments to be made for porn's effect on how women are viewed in society, and whether it reinforces objectification or even violence in real life. Unfortunately, and I'm really sorry for saying this but I think this is a really poor questionnaire. It is biased and assumes porn is inherently violent and that it causes violence - which isn't a good starting block for a debate.

Also, some of the questions were also a bit odd towards the end - I wasn't sure how to give my opinion based on one statement from an extensive study which wasn't properly explained in the questionnaire for example.

I think this is reflected in the comments you see above, with everyone basically disagreeing that porn causes violence. Maybe other questionnaires on the same topic could provide more food for thought by covering the issue properly; more extensively and without bias.

Those questions were beyond absurd. How the hell am I supposed to know whether Hugh Hefner defined women as sex objects if i don't know who he is or what documentary it was? What is even the relevance of the question.

The survey doesn't even talk about your views on violence against women, nor how much porn you watch. So it cannot POSSIBLY come to any conclusions about any correlation about those points.

Obviously it's supposed to dupe us into not accepting a retarded definition of rape, and then claiming we find rape acceptable or some ****. I have to say I took the bait in this ridiculous, ideologically driven, unscientific, purposeless exercise.

Hetero/Lesbian porn is disgusting. Gay porn is the most enjoyable. (Straight male).

I thought about this and realised since porn became mainstream (60-70's onwards), womens rights have actually gotten a lot better than before it.

done. but whatever this is that you are researching is pretty stupid i think, majority of men wont ever rape a girl, or think they are sex objects yet it's believed that all guys think that

i do not need to talk about my views on the questionnaire surely that will be bias if i tell you my views?
This is an inappropriate research methodology and I don't believe it passes muster as social science.

That may be despite it rather than because of it - just because two things occur simultaneously doesn't mean there is necessarily a link
