Rant about cheating

How can people cheat and not feel guilty? I don't understand it myself, I've never cheated on anyone and never intend to. I can just imagine how I would feel if I were cheated on and the pain i would feel.

The reason I ask is because my best friend has now got to the stage where he feels nothing about cheating on his girlfriend. Shes not at university but in his home town so while shes not around he goes after anything with a skirt.

Shes a really nice girl too and I wouldn't like to see her get hurt. Although hes my best friend I really deplore the way he treats her and I've told him that what hes doing is wrong. I sometimes wish that he would just get caught in the act to teach him a lesson but he seems to be eeirly good at covering his tracks and convincing her nothing is going on. Hes got her (and a few other women) eating out of the palm of her hand!

Meh, I'm not sure what I expect people to say. I just wanted to get it off my chest :frown:

I never understand why people just cheat, i feel sorry for your friend's girlfriend, have you ever told him and ask him how he feels. I mean how would he feel if it was him being cheated on?

I guess it depends on:

a) Your personal morals regarding cheating.
b) How much you respect the person you're cheating on, if at all.
c) The personal consequences of cheating.
d) How likely it is that you will be caught.

I don't think I could ever tell her despite how great the temptation. He is my best friend and I guess my loyalties are to him. I just wish he didn't ask me to cover for him on more than one occasion!

I can't really do anything about the situation tbh. I've tried to talk to him a few times but he always resorts back to his cheating ways. I think i'll just let him make his own mistakes and hope she doesn't get too badly hurt.

It sounds as if you are torn between the two because you dont want to see his gf get hurt but you dont want to betray your freind. However, the "truth will always out" as they say (dont know who "they" are) but he will eventually get caught out! Someone will tell his gf! She will probably find somebody better at university anyway because he is not worth her time.
If he ever asks you to cover up for him again simply say no. You shouldnt be put in the middle because if his gf found out you were involved as well you would get the blame as much as him and you have done nothing wrong. She will get hurt badly though because he will carry on doing it!
If you dont want to tell her personally, send her a tip off the internet (like 02.co.uk sms messaging). She needs to know though because he is playing her like a fool and she does not deserve it!
