Hi so by hyperplane I mean a quadratic equation in any number of variables, so a simple example will do
I do not quite understand the question when it says "contains affine lines" does this mean assymptotes?
What about a hyperboloid? Since you have assymptotes, and is just one connected surface (not intersection of planes)
