Hi all,
I need to use a quote from the European Convention of Human Rights - the following document. http://www.echr.coe.int/Documents/Convention_ENG.pdf
Not quite sure how to cite it in my essay? Do I even need to cite it?
Thanks in advance

Cite it the same way you would UK legislation.
So if you say in your essay something like "according to Article 10(2) of the European Convention on Human Rights exercise of freedom of expression 'may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society'" then you don't need to do any additional citation. If you just gave the quote that exercise of freedom of expression 'may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society' then just cite it as "European Convention on Human Rights, Article 10(2)."
