Second reference?

I've been invited to interview at Staffordshire University for Mental Nursing an need to provide a second reference for them to consider my application. They're said it can't be a family member or friend and they must have know me for at least 2 years.

I'm guessing they usually want academic referees or previous employers, but I have no employers that I've known for longer than a year. I can't think of any academic references, other than the know I've already give, who know me well enough recently to give a suitable reference.

I do have someone in mind though- while I was at University I was active in the student union, and the SU education officer for 2013/14 has offered to give me a reference.

Do you think she will be suitable? I'm worried because she's not currently a working professional.

Yes I think that would be acceptable because they have known you in a professional sense also that person was emplyed by a university which is also good
