Hi there, I'm in Year 12 and I need to send my UCAS Application off for the Sixth Form I want to be in as I'm finishing off my AS Levels at the current college I'm at this year.
But I have a problem.. I don't know who can check my personal statement or who can reference me. Last year in year 11 my teachers helped with that part. I can't go to the staff in my current college to validate it so what do I do?
(I'm also panicking because I need to send it before February)

ps. I have a paper copy form I can fill in and physically hand in and it just asks for a personal statement but no referencing, however it says on their website I have to apply through UCAS which has a field for referencing.

Your reference who has been assigned to you through your school has to check it beforehand. I am a year 13 student and sent my ucas application off a few months ago. When you pay and send off your ucas application it is then sent to your referee. Your referee will then check it for spelling, punctuation etc and if all is well then he/she will send it to the university. If there are problems with things such as missing capital letters etc like my one had then your referee will send your application back to you and then you can make the allocated changes and sent it back to your referee who may double check it again and then send it off to the university.

So I'll contact them? I'm worried about how long it will take mailing it, maybe I could go in person and see them?
Also, is sending a UCAS application the same when applying for sixth form versus university?
Sorry about the questions I'm really concerned about how long it will be until I can finally submit it because I should have sent it way before.

Do you mean contacting your referee? You can't apply for sixth form through ucas. UCAS is only for universities and college applications. I auppose you should have sent it off before but there is still time for late applications so you should still get the same consideration.

Yes, I'll try see her in person this week. It's a sixth form college but also a school. And that's good, I suppose my best bet is to send it in as soon as possible.

Oh ok. Yeh as you need to see her quickly it is best seeing her in person as emails sometimes can take a couple of days to be read etc. Yeh if your personal statement and reference is good and you've applied to realistic universities that match your predicted grades then you should get offers 😃
