GCSE results and medicine applications. watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm really motivated to apply for medicine, but what are GCSES generally required? I'm look at getting- A*s in chemistry, biology, English literature and language, then As in geography, maths, business, ICT and Physics but a B in German.

I'm then looking at taking chemistry, biology and maths A-Levels, what else should I take?

I play the bagpipes and know lots of Doctors for work shadowing work experience.

Do I have a chance? Any advice?

Aim for as many A*s as possible. Many people say that GCSEs aren't important for uni but they do come in to play for medical school applications! However, if you don't get straight A*s, don't panic, just make sure you do well in your A levels.

As for your subjects, biology, chemistry & maths are definitely the right choices. As for your forth, do something you enjoy! It's nice to have a bit of down time away from the super sciencey stuff (wouldn't recommend physics lol).

Bagpipes are unique so that will help you stand out so continue with that
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
