Confused about body changes

Since being at uni, I've noticed a lot of changes in my body. I've lost about half a stone (I've only really just acknowledged that) and my periods are seriously messed up. I've always been quite irregular, but I'm getting a bit worried. Like september, I was a week late, last monh I was a week early and I am now 2 weeks late. I am a virgin, but have done a lot (no need to say what) with my boyfriend.

I suppose I'm worrying about my period beimng so late. I know worrying about it isn't going to make it come any sooner. But another thing, things are getting quite serious with my boyfriend, and I was thinking about going on the pill. However, I'm a little worried about the changes uni has already made to my body; would the pill make these any worse?

Any thoughts?

You really need to talk to your doctor about it, as he/she is the only one that can really say if the pill will make things any worse. but IMO, uni's a stressful time, you've gone through a lot of changes. The later periods and weight loss are likely to just be stress. And yes, the worrying about it will make you later.

best thing to do is just go to the doctors and explain your worries, at least that will set your mind at ease.

I cant see that the pill would make you worse (unless you arent suited to it of course, its not for everyone), if anything it would make you feel better; your periods would become regulated and you wouldnt have to worry about being late. Also you have the added bonus of knowing you are protected from pregnancy if you're on the pill (doesnt protect from stds as you prob know so if youre bf isnt a virgin you might want to get him checked out).

Go to your gp/family planning and see what they say, they'd be able to suggest something for you. Obviously there can be side affects with the pill (weight gain, headaches etc) but not everyone gets these and if you do suffer from them, you can always change brand.

see your doctor, if only to talk things through as they might put your mind at rest about some things

and just talk through the pill, get some leaflets about them and then go back at a later date when you've thought it through.
