hi, i wanna be a doctor but at the moment i reckon i will only be able to get 3* and perhaps 2 a's and 5b's ,however would i be allowed to retake say 3 other subjects and revise in spare time and take official test in order to gain 3 more a* or more. money is no issue as i think it ranges at around £120 per exam .

would universities for medicine know or mind re takes under the circumstances and would i be allowed ? thanks

Yes, they would - you would have to declare both sets of grades.

It depends on the Medical School that you're applying to. Some may be OK with it whilst others won't be or will want to see evidence of their being extenuating circumstances for you to resit.

You would have to declare all the grades you got with the dates and the majority of medical schools would not count exams taken in Y12. It would also detract from your chances of getting top grades at AS. In short, don't do it.

My school allowed me to take a science gcse for the first time (as i only had btec) along side 3 big a levels and an epq and i passed... my opinion would be try its worth it i mean now i have 5 gcses and i feel better. Its worth a try i mean youll kick yourself if you dont atleast try. But on the other hand dont let it affect your a level studies.
