Properly a mix of old an new, some buildings look manky but there are some that are just...wow (in a good way)
High crime, esp in Fallowfield. Just keep your wits about you
It is Prestigous. not the most but it is one of the top.
Everyone is lovely, i think. Your all in the same boat so what's the point not bing nice?

The campus is so nice, some of it is modern and looks amazing, and there are plenty of old beautiful brick buildings. There are some horrible looking buildings scattered about but inside does those ones does a world of justice.

    Horrible:
    The Humanities Bridgeford Street building
Newer part of John Rylands (inside is fine, and outside isn't that bad)
    Owens Park Tower (60s monstrosity)

    Lovely:
    Samuel Alexander (old ish)
    Old part of John Rylands
    Sackville Street Building (old)
    MIB (shiny and modern)
    Turing Building (shiny and modern)
Whitworth Hall and adjoining buildings -****ing enormous and old
Owens Park Tower (but I really love the architecture)

Well done on your offer! There is a complete mixture of buildings; some are updated and modern and have new lecture theatres etc whereas some of the older buildings are dated but still very nice as they date back a long time and hold some history about the uni. The area is ideal for people who like city life- obviously! But there are so many buses for you to get about, shops and places to go are only a bus ride away and its easy access to the train stations if you want to go home. Like any city there are different people everywhere. Manchester attracts a lot of international students also because it is a well regarded university. International students tend to live on the city campus accommodation but I bet they also live in fallowfield etc as well.
