    Please help me out here

Okay 2 left wing political ideas.

I'm guessing you're not talking as far left wing as communism and we're talking about socialism etc??

Anyway so left wing sees more government control and sees it as the state's responsibilty to ensure everyone as a good quality of life and things like this. Taxes under a left wing government will be higher than they would be under a right wing government for this reason. They have to get the money to have all the public social institutions from somewhere and they think that the rich should pay more to close the gap between rich and poor. They don't like social hierarchy or for people to be inherently privaliged. In full support of the welfare state etc. Evaluation/Criticisim (new right) that this can produce percerse insentives.

Another: More liberal views on immigration and less emphasis on patriotizm and 'britishness' in our case. They think that money should be spent to help whoever needs it regardless of whether it's within that country. For example, if there is a war and at the same time the UK isn't doing brilliantly economically, in relation to the warzone, we are all doing well, so the warzone gets british tax money..

yeah so hopefully i got the right kinda left. it i didnt, tell me and i'll try again :P
