Literature is regarded much more highly than Language or the combined course.

English Language is good. You will study Children's Language Development so you will get to know about the biological and social functions of how children learn to speak and/or read.

We learned about how children speak; how they use their hands "motor skills" to learn to write and etc. It's more psychological than biological. But it still is good. I miss that side of English Language!

I did both English A-levels: English Language and English Literature .

English Language way better for it. It's more psychological than biological, but it's the closest thing. Biology and English Literature are completely irrelevant to one another unless you read Darwin's Origins of Species in Biology or something like that!

I do both Literature and Language, and have to say that I think Language would be more suited to your subject field - as The Empire Odyssey has said - it's a lot more psychological / theory based, in my opinion

I'll admit, I find Language quite dry sometimes, purely because it's more the 'nuts and bolts' side of English, but it is a really good course, all in all!
