how do i describe hydrostatic/osmotic pressure involved in the formation and re-absor watch

    how do i describe hydrostatic/osmotic pressure involved in the formation and re-absorption of tissue fluid at the capillary? i don't understand it its due to be handed in on the monday 2nd february and i'm seriously stuck

    any help or advice or the answer would be absolutely FANTASTIC!

    Tissue fluid is a fluid that surrounds cells in tissues. It contains important molecules like minerals, oxygen and nutrience which is key for normal body funtions

    At the start of a capillary bed the pressure inside the capillary is grater than pressure in tissue fluid. Therefore, fluid moves out of capillary and into area surrounding capillary.

    As you travel down capillary bed the water potential inside the capillary decreases due to fluid loss. So the water potential outside the capillary is greater then inside the capillary and therefore water moves back into capillary via osmosis.

    Any excess fluid which is too large to be absorbed by capillary is drained out using a lymphatic system.
