The love duet from Tristan und Isolde.. absolutely breathtaking. And I'm not just saying that because it sounds sophisticated it's indescribably beautiful.

Well too bad then western civilisation was overshadowed because 'Born This Way' peaked at No 3 in the UK.

I wasn't joking. If America isn't a part of western civilisation, western civilisation has been greatly overshadowed.

The high point of outside-American western civilisation in music would be when the British Empire allowed Legendtina Godguilera's Bionic to have a legendary chart-run on the UK chart: Lowest-selling No 1 in history, shortest run for a No 1 in the Top 5, 10, 20, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200.

It's sombre, that's for sure, but so beautiful. I must confess, I've never heard it.
If you like Bach, and his organ works, have a listen to his French Overture and the Art of the Fugue, they're amazing!

Your question was 'what for you was the high point of western civilisation in music', and my answer was when people clearly appreciated GODGA's cover of The Queen's legendary No 2 hit.

This is not a question which I worded personally, I assumed people would understand what it meant and they did apart from you

Now you realise the whole world is full of people with different ways of thinking and thoughts. Not too late.
