Standing up too quickly can cause faintness. It's called postural hypotension..

Dehydration? If your diet is fine- ie enough food with the correct balance of nutrients- and you drink enough water, and no other cause such as excessive wine consumption the night before, and it persists I'd pop along to the doctors. Probably nothing, but best to get it checked.

yeah but i didnt stand up to quickly i was just out walking with my friends

If you've been really tense as of late, that my be causing it. Tension tends to make people hold their breath, and a lack of oxygen to the brain can cause black-outs.

Fainting is also a (one amongst many) symptom(s) of the presence of various bacteria, including meningitus. When in doubt: consult a medical professional.

Low blood pressure, or lack of iron in the diet. See doctor.

I was feeling faint earlier this term. Went to see the doctor, he said stress (I'm a fresher) and about two weeks later it was fine. It's a good idea to see a doctor, but don't expect a reliable answer from people on here. It's somewhat akin to asking "I have a headache, why?".

Good advice.

I feel faint occasionally, that's due to usually having a cold, and is also accompanied by dizzyiness because my inner ear has been affected. But if you've not got a cold, then it might not be that. Get it checked out to put your mind at rest.

Hmm I've been feeling very faint too for the past few weeks, to the extent that I have fainted a lot of times. I went to the doc and they sent me off to have a load of blood and heart tests. They didn't say what might be causing it though. Which is kinda annoying cos I don't like going anywhere on my own in case I faint now, I nearly fainted in a shop the other day. :frown:
So yeah, go to the doc, and they'll tell you that in a few weeks time they might be able to tell you if there's anything wrong

Ah, ok, sorry!

I know this is unlikely, but is there any chance you could be pregnant and not know? That usually causes light-headedness and feeling faint.
