I feel like ****

Its my birthday today.

Doesn't feel like it though.

At school, I had no cake today, no presents, no kisses...just birthday beats...and a card. Tommorow I'll probably feel better but I really feel depressed at the moment. There is exactly nothing to do. I'm not going out tonight because I've got two exams tommorow and I'm not having a birthday party, my parents threw me one on saturday.

I really do feel like ****.

Tommorow, we're going out to celeberate my birthday with a couple of mates but why do I feel so depressed? Isn't there anything that can lighten me up? I just wanna go to sleep and finish this **** day. I thought your 17th birthday was meant to be one of the greatest?

If it makes you feel better I haven't had a good birthday since I was a kid

I never have good birthdays cos it's so soon after new year that everyones broke and tired and cant be bothered. 18 in less than two months and I'm determined to make it fun.

That really sucks...it's your birthday you're ment to be treated by everyone, not bullied...who invented birthday beats, I never got them from anyone, lucky me. No presents? I still get presents for mine and I'm 19 and at uni! Exams as well...november resits right? That sucks ass. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. oh and Happy birthday (even if everyone else isn't making it so happy)

I fail to really see how any of this is really a problem. Your parents were kind enough to throw you a party on Saturday and you're going out with friends tomorrow...why feel down?!

Oh wait sorry, birthday beats? Is that like being beaten up? If so then yeah, that's pretty horrible. :frown:

To be honest the birthday beats weren't really that hard. I mean, people did hit me but I'll get em back when its there birthday. But its just the fact that...nothing happened today.

Everybody else has a really big deal made in school and they get loads of presents and carry balloons saying "its my birthday" all day. I had nothing like that. It was just like an ordinary day. So ****ing ****.

Perhaps I'm being really narrow-minded but I really do feel horrible inside. Theres no1 at home and even when they do get home, exactly nothing is going to happen.

I havent had a birthday party since I was about 5. Infact the only times I have enjoyed my birthday have been when I had a girlfriend at the time, then there is someoen nice to spend the evening with...and to say happy birthday. Its no big deal really.

Maybe I'm just treating it like a really big deal. Are birthdays really meant to be that big-a-deal? I mean, I know some people who go through the entire day without telling anyone its there birthday but those people are usually loners who don't have/don't want friends.

Seventeen sucks. I did nothing at all.
Save your money up this year and organise a great big eighteenth party

Cheers. Thanks a lot. That's just made me feel really good about myself.

I'm sorry you're sad, really I am. And I'm not going be too harsh because I can see you're young but flipping hell at least your parents threw you a birthday party, and your mates are going out with you tommorow to celebrate- as tigerlily already said. Why are you so down?

It may not have been on your actual birthday but so what! it's a party held for you nonetheless. You have friends, some people don't. I spent my 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th birthday alone. And I can tell you it wasn't a nice feeling sitting at home having no one call me. The way things are looking at the moment I'll probably end up spending my forthcoming 21st birthday alone too. If I had things my way I'd have friends to celebrate it with, but I don't. Consider yourself lucky.

So's your 18th, Mine was spent home alone because I was ill and most of my friends had exams. two visited me later on for an hour or so. but that was it.

On my 22nd all I got was two birthday cards- one from my dad and one from my boyfriend (I have 8 siblings and 2 parents ).

I was skint too so didn't go out :frown:

Out of sight out of mind eh?

Wow I feel pretty naive.

I guess I'm just expecting way too much. And 3 hours of boredom is nothing. Anyways my dad came home with a cake and my family sang happy birthday and an auntie came round. So I guess my life isn't as bad as I thought.

I bet I'll feel really silly about all this tommorow. But you guys HAVE made me feel better. <3 TSR

Just be grateful you did something at the weekend and are going out with friends tomorrow.

My birthday was a couple of months ago. What happened for it? Not much. I was a couple of weeks into a new job in a new town. I knew very few people here. I had to work all day on my birthday and then again in the evening. The most I got was a phone call from my family. Most of my friends forgot (as we all live different ends of the country now and most, like me, had just started new jobs so it's understandable they forgot.
I only got three proper cards and one quickly drawn up by one of my classes at school as they asked how many cards I had.

Don't expect people to do great things for your birthday unless you get in there an sort it out for yourself. You are growing up. Life is not like Tv. Birthdays need reminding to people....constantly. If you want to get out there and do something on your Birthday, start to sort it out weeks before hand. Don't expect others to do it for you.

And finally, just be grateful for what ever does happen. It could always be worse. One Birthday present I will always remember is one I got for my 21st....the news my Grandma had terminal cancer :frown:

You get punched in the arm as many times as you are years old. Or at least, you do round here. It's great.

Well, happy birthday. If it's any consolation, I have crappy ones too.

I did **** all for my 17th, had a bbq with 3 of my mates - that was my party. Had nothing at school, just a couple of cards and 1 or 2 prezzies, just a normal school day- with the exception of Nick who brought in a cake - but that was because 4 of our maths class had birthdays that week....No big deal made, I was a bit depressed, but I got over it - with the promise of not having to pay for my driving license... Just hope my 18th will be better...might have a shared party with some people...then i might get a dewal made of my brithday - but it will be after study leave when all the year 13s have left school...
