I have seen alot of people on here saying befor going to uni "I am going for a degree not to make freinds" and "I don't like clubbing ect..." and then a few weeks later I see people going on about how they wan't to quit have not made any frends ect so hopfully this will help out all student's starting ths September.
So you have unpacked and you have been left all alone possably for the first time in your life with a lode of people that you don't know . So what do you do you are living with these people for the forceabel future so don't hide in your room go in to the kitcken and say Hi if everyone else is in there room why not be the peroson to make the first move. There will probley be some night out on the Sunday of the move in weekend but it can't hurt to talk befor then also do go out on the first weekend it's usefull bonding experience if people are in the Kitchen join them if not just be socabel and invet them out to explore the town
home studens obviouslt this is a totaly diffent kettel of fish obviously you need to figer out where to go what train bus to get ect so i would recomend making a dummy run. When term starts don't run home after you lessosn have finsihed hang out with you class mates and if you can even go drinking with them a few times.
both of these sanreos should help you make frends when you start in uni. talk to everyone and you should do fine frends are IMPORTANT in uni.
On the subject of going out and drinking a genaral rule of thumb is getting drunk is fine you are in Uni and for a fresher it's expected as long as you can walk by the end of the night it's all good.
But what if you don't drink? Go out anyway and drink soft drinks people will not really care you may get the odd joke about not drinking but it is probly just that a joke.
Lastly If you say oh i don't like clubbing go out on the first week atlest otherrwise you may find it a littel harder to make frends oh yeah and everyone should join a club or socity so you can meet like minded people and try somthing new .
I hope i have heped the new crop of frehers this year.
